Bob Blair is known for his virtuosity on pedal steel, weissenborn and resonator guitars. He also plays a mean acoustic, tells a heck of a story, and sings awfully pretty, too. He's played live and in the studio with a number of Western Canadian artists and plays alongside his brother from time to time. He's a regular at the Texas Steel Guitar Association Annual Jamboree.
This episode also sees the debut of Bob's new Martin D-28 guitar.

Bob Blair hails from Vancouver, with roots stretching to Lethbridge, Alberta, where his family's ties to the brewing industry intertwined with his passion for music.
Bob's journey began in his hometown, where he explored his musical talents alongside his academic pursuits. While studying labor law and practicing as a labor lawyer, Bob's love for music never waned. He honed his skills on the guitar, influenced by the sounds of jazz, folk, and rock that filled his childhood home.
Despite a successful career in law, Bob's heart belonged to music. He found solace and joy in crafting melodies and exploring the depths of various genres. From the classic tunes of Louis Armstrong to the folk-rock anthems of Dylan, Bob's musical journey was eclectic and soulful.
His transition from law to music was gradual yet inevitable. Bob immersed himself in the vibrant music scenes of Toronto and Vancouver, playing pedal steel guitar and lending his vocals to various projects. Collaborations with fellow musicians enriched his experience, leading to memorable performances and cherished friendships.
Bob's musical repertoire spans from country to blues, reflecting his diverse influences and dynamic spirit. Whether performing solo or jamming with a band, Bob's presence on stage captivates audiences with its authenticity and warmth.
Today, Bob continues to pursue his passion for music while maintaining a connection to his legal background.
Bob plays every now and again at the Commodore Restantant in Edmonton. If you have the chance check out one of his live sets, do. You'll be glad you did.
